Incoloy 825 is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum, copper, and titanium. Known for its exceptional corrosion resistance in various environments, especially those containing sulfuric and phosphoric acids, the alloy is widely used in industries such as chemical processing, oil and gas, and marine engineering. Incoloy 825 bars are a popular form of this alloy, offering versatility in applications that require strength, durability, and resistance to corrosive elements.

The bars are typically manufactured through processes like hot rolling or forging, resulting in a range of diameters and lengths to suit diverse industrial requirements. Incoloy 825 bars exhibit outstanding resistance to both reducing and oxidizing acids, making them suitable for applications where exposure to harsh chemical environments is a concern. The addition of copper enhances the alloy's resistance to sulfuric acid, while the molybdenum and titanium content contribute to its overall corrosion resistance.

One of the notable features of Incoloy 825 Bars is their ability to withstand high temperatures. The alloy maintains its mechanical properties at elevated temperatures, making it suitable for applications in heat exchangers, furnace components, and other high-temperature environments. The bars also exhibit good mechanical properties and are readily machinable, allowing for ease of fabrication and installation.

Incoloy 825 Bars find applications in various industries, including chemical processing, where they are used for components such as reaction vessels, piping systems, and heat exchangers. In the oil and gas sector, these bars are employed in downhole and surface wellhead equipment, as well as in components exposed to corrosive elements in offshore environments. The marine industry benefits from the alloy's resistance to seawater and brine solutions, making it suitable for marine equipment and desalination plants.

Incoloy 825 Rods Manufacturing Process

Melting Bars

Melting The process begins with melting raw materials, usually iron ore, chromium, nickel, and other elements in precise proportions, in an electric furnace.

Bars Casting

Casting Once melted, the molten metal is poured into molds to create billets or slabs. These initial forms are then further processed.

Cleaning and Heating Phase

Hot Rolling The billets are heated and passed through a series of rolling mills to reduce their size and shape them into long, thin rods. This process is called hot rolling because the metal is heated above its recrystallization temperature.

Annealing

Annealing The rods are then annealed to relieve stress and improve their machinability. This involves heating the rods to a specific temperature and then slowly cooling them.

Finishing Process

Pickling The rods undergo a pickling process to remove any scale, oxide, or other impurities on the surface. This is usually done with an acid solution.

Cutting

Cutting Finally, the rods are cut to the desired length using shearing machines or other cutting methods.
