Hastelloy C276 Bars are following nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloys that are used where the corrosion resistance of the material is paramount in severely corrosive environments or reaction conditions. They are normally made of nickel and also contain molybdenum and chromium which make it ideal for cases where the resistance of the material to corrosion is very important.
Due to its high nickel content Hastelloy C276 exhibits a good resistance in both reducing as well as oxidising operation situations. This makes the bars suitable for use in chemical production, pollution control, to produce pulp and paper and other processes that involve coming into contact with corrosive substances.

The strengthening of molybdenum helps the alloy have better pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. The Hastelloy C276 bars are some of the products that are used in rigorous chemical processing situations where aggressive fluids and gases cause the degradation of the normal materials.
Another important component of the nickelled steel is Chromium that provides resistance to the alloy in the presence of oxidising media. This makes Hastelloy C276 bars useful in uses where strong oxidising agents will be used like nitric acid, ferric and cupric chlorides and chlorine dioxide.
